THE JOURNEY OF THE DRESS FROM AN IDEA TO YOU
DESIGN AND PATTERNS
The journey of the dress starts with an idea and vision of the dress from the IVY DIONE team. IVY DIONE dresses are designed in Finland. We give the idea and sketches of the dresses to the pattern department in Lithuania, and they create the patterns and tech packs. The factory makes graded spec and pattern for each style. The tech pack contains all the information that is required to transform a design into a dress, such as material, trims, details, seams, labeling, packing and embellishments or accessories.
FABRIC SOURCING
Simultaneously with the idea of a dress, idea of the material is born. IVY DIONE team gives the specifications of the wanted materials to the factory, and they source different options from their long term partners. IVY DIONE team chooses the preferred and most suitable material for each design. When the fabrics arrive to the factory, they are quality checked before they are approved for production.
SAMPLES
Once the patterns are ready and materials are chosen, a sample of each dress is made. The factory has a modern sampling department where technologists, sewers, designers and quality managers work together on each dress to create a sample and to achieve the best solutions for production. IVY DIONE team carefully goes through the samples and gives feedback to the factory. Often some changes are needed until the dress is perfect and ready to go to production.
PRODUCTION
Before the production can start, a final production sample is made and sent for approval to the IVY DIONE team. After approval, the production can start. The fabrics are cut with modern machinery, which optimises the use of fabric and minimises waste. Then the fabrics are sewed together with first class sewing machines. Each sewing line has its own quality controller that checks quality during all stages of sewing process. Also the IVY DIONE label is sewed to the dress, and hangtag attached.
FINALIZING
Quality management in finishing department checks that all the dresses meet the requirements. The dresses are finalised by ironing and steaming them to pristine condition.
PACKING AND SHIPPING
All the dresses are delicately packed to recyclable poly packs and placed to cardboard boxes that are shipped by a truck to our warehouse in Finland.
Once an order is made by you, the dress packs are sealed with a sticker and placed to paper bags. We use climate friendly delivery service whenever possible.
